I’m releasing all slower-tempo electronic productions that isn’t D&B as Janne Hatula (my real name) from now on. We’re talking about in bass music: there will be D&B as Fanu, too, as before, and there will be other styles and tempos, too, as this release shows you.
After the last video, I received plenty of questions as to how to do reverse looping with your sampler if it doesn’t have that function? (e.g., Maschine still doesn’t have it, Ableton Simpler doesn’t have it).
I did a video on an old trusted method of mine that’s been providing me with seamless breakbeats for a long time now even if all my samplers don’t have a reverse loop ability.
Doing this with Ableton Live and its handy integration with 3rd party audio editors, but this can be done with any daw.
This rose from a convo with a friend: to make plenty of shorter loops you’d work on later – or always see the effort and go for full songs instead?
I have been in that position where a label wants a release from me and I send them 1-minute clips, and they tell me “It’s nice but send full songs” Continue reading “Full songs or nothing!”→
Lightless Coffee Crew shirts are available once again – for all coffee and Lightless minded people. This is a limited run of 50 shirts, so be quick if you want one.
The shirts are high quality Gildan Ultra Cotton shirts. Print is white on a black shirt. For size info, see this pic.
PS!: Throughout the history of Lightless shirts going out to all over the world, very, very few have been lost (probably around five–six in total). I cannot be held liable if the parcel is lost by mail (which has only happened a few times, and it’s only ever happened with some shirts sent to Russia so far).
A few clarifying words about DJing by yours truly. When I announced the end of musical productions as Fanu, it seemed to confuse some people. To make it as brief and simple as possible: I will continue to DJ as Fanu, as explained before. Still love D&B to death – will always play it.
