For some time, I’ve wanted to write a post about the worst DJing-related experiences I’ve had in my career.
Just for the lols.
Finally found time to do it on the holiday.
Hope you enjoy.
Free/public post, so feel free to share!
Now on Patreon: a walkthru video of my Metalheadz song, Legacy.
It’s the song of mine that’s got the most plays (if that matters at all).
I’m going thru the project and showing what’s happening, why, talking a bit about what I think makes a Metalheadz song, the importance of different song sections etc.
Class in session, so grab a classy brew and start making some notes.
“Would there be any benefit to temporarily putting a limiter on the master in order to highlight any issues in the mix (I mean would it highlight anything too loud in the mix or annoying frequencies)?”
This is a good question, and I’m happy to answer this. Even if you’re not that interested in mastering, this can be useful, because it can kind of give you some feedback on your mix.
My detailed answer and thoughts on the matter can be found here on Patreon.
If you’re interested in breakbeat work, this video on Patreon should be up your alley.
I took a breakbeat I’ve been working recently and I’m going thru that.
Covering some of the basics like how I chop, what do I look for in a break, how you can change its vibe and so on.
Also talking about what makes a break, how they used to sound, how things started sounding later on in DNB, etc…just a break nerd lecturing for ya’ll.
I’ll also link you to the drum loop on Patreon. Continue reading Breakbeat masterclass: Rock Dirge
